I want to make it clear that I have not submitted my resignation," declared Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

This statement comes in response to the recent dismissal of all media aside of the deputy governor, citing alleged insubordination.

Rumors of a potential impeachment plan against the deputy governor had been circulating during the week, leading to a sense of unease among members of the state Executive Council.

However, in a statement issued personally by Deputy Governor Aiyedatiwa in Akure, the state capital, he refuted the existence of a purported pre-signed resignation letter that had been circulating in the public domain.

Aiyedatiwa emphasized, "I wish to clarify that I, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, have not, do not intend to, and will not sign or authorize any letter of resignation from my position as the duly elected Deputy Governor, serving alongside Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, CON, in a joint mandate."

He further reminded everyone of the oath he took on February 24th, 2021, when he was sworn in, pledging to uphold the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria throughout his four-year mandate, which concludes on February 23rd, 2025.

"I remain steadfast in my loyalty to Governor Akeredolu, and I am committed to fulfilling the four-year tenure as mandated by our oath," Aiyedatiwa affirmed.

In conclusion, he urged the people of Ondo State, the State Assembly, and the general public to disregard any such resignation letter, both now and in the future.
